CA Chandrashekhar Chitale, CCM, is an elected Member of the Central Council “The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India” (ICAI), serving three consecutive terms (2019–22, 2022–25, and 2025–29). He holds a B.Com and LL.B (Gen.) degree and is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA). He is the Senior Partner of C. V. Chitale & Co., bringing extensive professional experience to his leadership roles. At ICAI, he currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Members in Practice Committee (MPC). For the year 2025–26, he holds key leadership positions as Chairman of the Ethical Standards Board and Chairman of the Board of Internal Audit & Management Accounting and serves as Vice-Chairman of the Committee on International Taxation. He has earlier served as Chairman of the Direct Taxes Committee (2022–23) and Chairman of the Peer Review Board (2022–23), contributing significantly to professional standards, tax policy representation, and peer review mechanisms within the profession.
Beyond ICAI, he has been actively associated with the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA), where he served as Treasurer for a decade and presently chairs the Direct Taxes Committee of the Chamber. He is also a Member of the Executive Committee. Additionally, he was nominated to the Cost Accounting Standards Board of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMA). He has previously served as Chairman of the Pune Branch of ICAI and has been a lecturer at commerce colleges and management institutions.
A prolific writer, he has authored numerous articles published in professional and mainstream publications including Taxmann, CA Journal, CMA Journal, Economic Times, Times of India, Arthmanthan, Sakal, and Maharana Times. He has also authored books such as Users Guide on Tax Audit, VDIS, and Service Tax for Professionals, and was awarded a prize for the Best Article in the PCAS Journal.
CA Chandrashekhar Chitale has delivered several lectures at seminars and conferences for professionals and the public, including the prestigious Vasant Vyakhanmala lecture series. His areas of specialisation include Direct Taxes, Drafting and Conveyancing, and Corporate Counselling.
